Under the Benazir Income Support Program, significant decisions have been made regarding the disbursement of financial aid and educational support. It has been confirmed that the sponsorship and educational scholarships will be credited to recipients’ accounts starting Friday, May 10. Recipients can expect the latest installment of the program, which can be obtained from nearby service centers after verifying payments through the system and the 8171 online portal. Additionally, updates regarding the Nigehbaan Card and Hazmat Card program have been announced.
Enrollment Requirements for Nigehbaan and Himate Programs
It’s important to note that only eligible individuals with valid disability certificates can enroll in these assistance programs. Enrollment can be initiated by visiting the Baitul Mal website. The Nigehbaan Card is available for Rs.12,000, while the Hamat Guard program is accessible for Rs.6,000.
Expanding Opportunities: Free Solar System Scheme
A new initiative has been introduced to provide solar energy systems to households in the Punjab province. Deserving and underprivileged families will receive two solar panels along with a battery, ensuring access to sustainable energy sources.
Streamlined Registration Process for Solar Scheme
In an effort to simplify the registration process for the solar scheme, a new code has been implemented. Interested individuals are required to send their ID card numbers via SMS to 8800. Upon sending the message, they will receive a prompt informing them of their eligibility status and participation in the scheme.
Enhancements in the Banking System
The Benazir Income Support Program will now facilitate payments through a cashless system. However, the introduction of the new banking system is still pending. Notably, payments were previously made through M-banking services, but ATMs operated by Bank Al Falah and Habib Bank are currently non-functional. Plans are underway to launch the new banking system promptly, allowing beneficiaries to access payments through bank ATMs.
By implementing these updates, the Benazir Kafalat Program aims to enhance efficiency and ensure timely assistance to those in need.
